As part of Sodexo’s “American Mayors Series”, Sodexo hosted a special one-on-one conversation with San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer and Mia Mends, Chief Administrative Officer for Sodexo North America.
With Sodexo's major presence in San Diego, Mia Mends asked the Mayor about issues of interest to residents and the business community, ranging from schools to healthcare to protecting the most vulnerable populations. The session focuses on how the Mayor has been leading in turbulent times, how the city has been caring for the homeless population and continuing to navigate the binational relations with Mexico as well as delving into lessons learned from the past few months. This 30-minute conversation is only available through Sodexo.
The U.S. Surgeon General, Dr. Adams, and our panel of industry leaders from USAA, the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, and Morgan Stanley discussed how businesses can help advance community health and economic prosperity to make our society more resilient in a post-COVID world.
The discussion touched on business and community health themes including:
• How to create a more resilient business and advance the health of your community through strategic partnerships.
• How the pandemic has underscored the interdependency between business, health and the economy -- and how that must improve moving forward.
• What specific, pragmatic opportunities businesses can take to benefit the wellbeing of their workforce and invest in their communities.
